5 Teas to Boost your Immunity

Tea is almost like a companion to us right from the moment we wake up; grab a cup of piping hot tea to begin our day with! For the majority of us, it’s impossible to start a day without tea. Apart from making us comfortable, tea has got a vital role in boosting your immune system and provides energy for the day. As we face a worldwide pandemic- COVID-19  it is important that you have sufficient immunity as studies show that the virus can affect anyone, but people with pre-existing health problems and a weakened immune system. 1.Turmeric Tea

Turmeric contains curcumin along with anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and anti-bacterial properties. Famous for its healing properties, turmeric can be consumed in the form of tea, if you’re a tea lover. Here’s a recipe for you.


1/3 -honey

2 1/2 teaspoons turmeric powder


Black pepper

Method of preparation

Take a bowl. Add turmeric powder and honey to form a paste

Take a tea cup, place a heaping teaspoon of the turmeric paste in the bottom of it.

Pour hot (but not boiling water) into the cup, and stir well to dissolve the turmeric paste.

Add a big squeeze of juice from a lemon, and a good amount of black pepper.


2.Green Tea

Loaded with antioxidants, Green Tea helps to boost our immune system. The best way to stay away from the attacks of infectious diseases is by having a cup of refreshing green tea.

2 teaspoons Green tea leaves

2 cups Water

Honey, (optional) to taste

Method of preparation

Once the water starts boiling, turn off the heat and add the green tea leaves.

Keep it covered for a minute.

Strain the green tea into the tea cups.

Add honey to taste (only as a sweetener, you can completely skip it), give it a swirl and serve.

3. Tulsi Tea

The best way to boost your immunity in this season is to have Tulsi Tea.  A sip of it can burst a fresh-from-the-garden flavor and has many associated health benefits. Tulsi leaves are high in antioxidants and help your body detox. Many research shows that basil leaves can protect your body against toxic chemicals.



8 to 10 Leaves Tulsi

4 Teaspoon Honey

1 Liter Water

2 Teaspoon tea powder

Method of preparation

Boil water in a saucepan, and add the tea powder in it.

To this add the Tulsi leaves and allow it to steep for 5 to 10 minutes depending on how intense you want your brew.

Remove the lid from the saucepan and add honey to it. Mix it well and enjoy it warm.

4.Chamomile Tea

Antimicrobial properties present in Chamomile Tea help to remove inflammation and lowers cholesterol. Apart from reducing stress, Chamomile Tea has high content of sleep inducing properties.



2 cups Water

3 teaspoons Dried Chamomile


Method of preparation

To begin making Chamomile tea Recipe, take a saucepan and start heating water on a high heat.

Once the water starts boiling, switch off heat and add the dried chamomile.

Keep it covered for a minute.

Strain the chamomile tea into the tea cups.

Add honey to taste (only as a sweetener, you can completely skip it), give it a swirl and serve.
